Crafting Stories With Soul

Explore the wonder of fiction

Out here, the future is not built by lone geniuses with perfect plans. It is built by people who keep showing up: for their whānau, for their crews, for their promises, and for themselves.

This site is home to my science fiction, work shaped by collaboration, curiosity, and the evolving possibilities of storytelling, including support from AI.

Rooted in Whakapapa (genealogy and interconnectedness) and Tikanga (customs and protocols), these stories explore relationships between people, land, memory, and spirit. They are informed by Kaitiakitanga, care and guardianship for the environment, and Manaakitanga, hospitality, generosity, and respect for others, while holding close the holistic understanding of wellbeing expressed in Te Whare Tapa Whā: family, physical, mental, and spiritual.

Whakataukī and English proverbs are woven throughout this work, offering both foundation and challenge. Their meanings help shape stories of hard choices, moral complexity, gallows humour, and the enduring awe of the unknown.

Within these pages are starships and stations, dust-choked marae in orbit, salvage crews listening for a hum in the hull, and worlds where survival means more than staying alive. It means remaining accountable to one another, and to the futures we are trying to build.

Welcome. Make a proper cup of tea and stay awhile.
